Hi-Tech Chromium Cobalt Casting (RPD)

Hi-Tech Chromium Cobalt Casting (RPD)

Hi-Tech Chromium Cobalt Casting (RPD)

A cast (removable partial denture) is one which is constructed for the purpose of protecting, preserving and strengthening the remaining abutments, while at the same time replacing the patient’s missing teeth.

A partial denture is not a means to an end, but in fact the end itself and a properly constructed RPD should not destroy the remaining dentition. Our technicians follow this principle when designing every cast framework along with an aesthetically pleasing appearance.

Individually handcrafted, each one of our chromium cobalt castings have a combination of proven bio-compatibility together with the finest lightweight framework and strong, flexible clasping.

Full Metal Palate

Full Metal Palate

Full Metal Palate

Traditionally made for patients who have had a history of broken dentures caused by a bony midline, for example, a full metal palate is perfect given that it offers an extremely thin and light-weight framework simultaneously providing maximum strength to the denture.

A full metal palate can be constructed in a particular way to overcome future reline problems. Please contact Greg to discuss your individual case.

Unilateral Cast Chrome

Unilateral Cast Chrome

Unilateral Cast Chrome

This type of chrome casting is a small framework with the absence of a palatal connector or lingual bar.

Typically designed to replace only 1 – 3 teeth in each quadrant of the mouth, a Unilateral is suited to a patient who only has a small number of teeth missing.

Patients who have 1 or 2 teeth missing on both sides but desire no lingual coverage or palatal connector can choose the option of 2 individual unilateral frameworks which will still provide an excellent result.

Swinglock Design

Swinglock Design

Swinglock Design

Designed with a labial retaining bar, this partial has a hinge on one side and a latch on the other. When closed, the bar is locked, securing the swinglock into position.

This type of partial adds stability to a patient’s mobile teeth and root system as well as helping to evenly distribute the weight and stress in the arch area. Some of the best cases occur when there are undercuts to clasp.

Cosmetic improvements can also occur, but may be challenging for those patients with high smile line. Please call Greg regarding your individual case.

Rotational Path of Insertion

Rotational Path of Insertion

A rotational RPD is one which utilizes a “double path of insertion” to facilitate the use of natural undercuts enabling the prosthesis to be ultra retentive and aesthetically pleasing both at the same time.

This type of design can be quite complex and we recommend that you collaborate with Greg to achieve the premium end result.

Hygienic Lingual Bar

Hygienic Lingual Bar

Hygienic Lingual Bar

A wonderful option to the conventional lingual bar or lingual panel would be the “hygienic” lingual bar, allowing the Dentist or Clinician to design and construct a device which is both hygienic and patient friendly.

The hygienic lingual bar differs from a conventional bar given that it covers only the lingual aspect of the lower teeth leaving the gingiva completely free – the benefits of which are obvious.

This type of device is especially suited to patients with any form of gingival recession due to periodontal disease or even gum stripping caused by a previous partial denture.

Laser Welding

As they say time is money and the benefits gained by utilising our Laser Welding Service offers you just that.

Facilitating an extremely quick turn-a-round time we can repair broken retainers or clasps, add, backings, lingual bars, onlays, roaches, circumferentials and retentive pins.

Due to the precise nature of the laser beam the acrylic work does not need to be removed even if the weld is adjacent to it, thus keeping the cost of the repair down as well as the time the framework is away from the surgery.

Cast Additions

This type of repair or addition necessitates the new section to be cast up first and then the technician will laser weld it onto the original framework.

Backings, Onlays, Roaches, and retentive pins can sometimes need to be cast up first if the client does not have the broken piece given to them by the patient.
